Budget boarding
I soon learned that snowboarding can be a pretty expensive hobby, especially if you ever want to travel abroad to explore some of the best slopes that Europe and North America have to offer. Unless you win the lottery or develop some piece of super human resource software that makes you a millionaire, you’re not going to be able to afford an overseas boarding trip every year. Which leaves the alternatives to either do your local dry ski slope and all the blisters, scrapes and cuts that entails or heading to one of Scotland’s ski resorts. Doesn’t sound too appealing, does it? But the snowboarding facilities north of the border are improving every year, and Aviemore is becoming the unofficial UK capital of cool – at least for those who understand what the words alley-oop and mogul really mean!
