History of snowboarding
Snowboarding was not a very popular sport even a few years back but with the passage of time it became one of the most popular sports to be played during winter. Earlier there were many famous resorts all over the world which did not allow its borders to go for snowboarding. Some of the resorts where snowboarding was forbidden were Vermont, Aspen Colorado, New Mexico, Taos, Alta, Deer Valley and Mad River Glen. But now most of the resorts have removed their ban on snow boarding. Snowboarding was thought to be a sport for people below 25 years of age but now everyone including kids and middle aged men and women take part in this sport.
Snowboarding was first founded in 1965 by a chemical gas engineer named by Sherman Poppen. One day he, inspired with the idea of surfing, tied up two skis with a rope and called this object a snurfer. His kids were absolutely in loved this new object of sport that their father invented. Poppen’s kids showed the snurfer to their friends and their friends loved this too and they also wanted this new toy. Slowly when the snurfer started getting popular, Poppen sold the idea to a manufacturer.
Poppen started organizing snurfing competitions all across the country and the sport started becoming even more popular. One day, a man named Jake Burton came to see one of these snurfing competitions and immediately was fascinated by the sport. So he thought of popularizing the sport even more. He modified the snurfer a bit and laminated it. He improved the bindings of the snurfer too and made it more efficient and safe to ride. He entered a competition with this improved snurfer and beat his fellow competitors. In 1994 the sport came to be known as snow boarding and was accepted in the Olympics.
Today, snowboarding is a really popular winter sport and the best part is that you do need gas oil suppliers, such as you would do for car racing, in order to enjoy this sport.
